“Into The Light”
Is the Spirit of Jesus Christ alive within you? Too many people today feel the joy of Jesus for awhile and then they fall back into personal endeavors that are more self oriented. The church was a place to encounter God and then to channel the energy of Christ’s power to a world in need of redemption. The church has lost some of it’s dynamic power, because persons refuse to participate in worship, study, fellowship and prayer. Christmas has become a time for self fulfillment and sentimental remembrance. It needs to be a time to feel the power of God and trust in God’s action. We must be participants, rather than observers.

In this Advent time of preparing our hearts and minds to feel the presence of God in Christ, let us experience the energy of God’s grace and love. Realize what God has done. He has brought us out of darkness into the light of His love. Let us rejoice and be glad. Let us give God our best in service and sacrifice. Let us feel the energy of God’s redeeming love. We hope to see you in church.

                                               In Christ,

Kiddos Korner
Sunday Mornings in December, 9:30-10:15

The W. R. Allen Hall has been transformed into the city of Bethlehem. Each Sunday during the Sunday school hour we will host the Kindergarten-Sixth Grade kids for a Christmas VBS. There will be songs, Bible stories and crafts.

December 19 The children will host a Christmas pageant at 6:00 p.m. followed by a yummy potluck dinner downstairs at 6:30. Parents, we will start gathering and do costumes around 5:00. If you can not make it at 5:00 just get there when you can. Practice for the pageant will be on Wednesday during the Discovery Club time. The pageant will be easy enough for kids that can not make it to Discovery Club to still participate, so please make plans to help us celebrate the coming of the Christ child.

A Note Concerning Tax Laws
December 31. Donors must deliver or mail (and postmark) checks on or by this date in order to claim a charitable contribution deduction for 2007. Checks that are placed in the church offering on the first Sunday of 2008 will not qualify for a charitable contribution deduction for 2007, even if the check is predated to 2007 or was actually written in 2007. However, checks that are written, mailed, and postmarked in 2007 will be deductible in 2007 though they are not received by the church until 2008.
