Kevin
Teffeteller To Speak
Jesus turned water into wine. Jesus could take something
common and make it special. He can do the same to you. Have you truly
felt the transforming power of Jesus? Sunday, Kevin Teffeteller, our Lay
Leader, will speak on John 2:1-11. Kevin has called his meditation, “New
and Improved.” Come and receive a blessing Sunday. Come and see if you
can be new and improved.
In Christ,

Sign-Up
For Supper Club
It's that time of year again-it's time to sign up for
Broadway's Supper Club. This is an adults only group for singles or
couples who meet once a month in someone's home for brunch, lunch or
dinner or at a restaurant-whatever works best for your group. It's a
wonderful way to make new friends and get to know other members of our
Broadway family. We will have sign up sheets in the bulletin on January
14th and 21st. Everyone who signs up is invited to come and meet your
group at a potluck dinner at 6 pm on Wednesday, January 24th. You will
be seated with your group to get acquainted and plan your get togethers.
Looking forward to seeing everyone with covered dishes and calendars in
hand on 1/24. If you have any questions please call Debbie Taylor or
Barbara Tiller. Contact the church office for phone numbers.
Odyssey Going Out To Dinner
The Odyssey group will be visiting the Turkey Creek
shopping area in January. We will leave the church parking lot at 2:00
p.m. on Thursday, January 25, and travel to the shops at Turkey Creek
for some shopping time. At 5:00 we will have dinner at Mimis Café. Each
person will order from the menu and pay for their own meal. We will
collect money for gas on our return and should be back to the church by
7:30 or before. Please sign up in the church office by noon on Monday,
January 22.
Time To Start Knitting
The Knit-Wits will start back at 10:00 a.m. Monday,
January 15, in the W. A. Allen Hall. At that time we will pick our
project for the winter months and decide if we want to meet every
Monday. You don’t have to commit to every week. Come and see what we are
about. Any questions; call Martha McFarland, 983-1064.
Altar Guild Invitation
The co-chairs this year for the Altar Guild are Susanne
Martin, and Nan Taylor. There will be an organizational meeting in the
near future. Please call us if you would like to help with acolytes,
flowers, or special committees. It is not difficult and you will have
lots of help. It is a program that serves many needs at Broadway and we
appreciate all who are involved.

If you have never heard our Bishop, James E. Swanson,

Jubilation Is Two Months Away
Jubilation, the Holston Conference Older Adult Retreat,
is March 18-20 at Meadow View Resort and Conference Center in Kingsport,
Tennessee. This year’s program is packed with wonderful workshops,
worship experiences, music, and recreation time. The key leaders for the
retreat are Bishop Richard Looney leading Bible study, Dr. Jane Thibault
providing the keynote address, Rev. Jonathan Jonas developing worship
experiences, and James Rogers from Dollywood entertaining participants
on Sunday evening with his “one man show.”
Brochures are available in the church office or from Bob Ergenbright.
Registration forms with costs and rooming information are included with
the brochure, which also lists all the workshops and their leaders.
Jubilation is a time of rest and relaxation coupled with opportunities
to learn about many issues concerning adults 55 and older. Deadline for
registration is February 20, 2007. If enough people from Broadway want
to go to Jubilation, Mr. Ergenbright will drive the bus so participants
will not need to take their own cars.

Toddler Nursery Volunteers
We have a fun ministry opportunity for you! Each Sunday, our
Toddler Nursery is staffed by a crew of two volunteers. Not only is this a great
chance to be with some awesome kids, it gives some parents a chance to worship
and maybe relax a bit, knowing that their child is well cared for. We are
currently working on the 2007 schedules. If you would like to help, please
contact Vicky Maslowski or Charlie Wimmer.
Susanna Wesley To Host Fund Raiser
The Susanna Wesley Circle fund raiser will be at 6:30 p.m.,
Thursday, January 18, in the church parlor. It will include Angie Kizer from
Pampered Chef, Lori Wade from Creative Memories and Becky Croft from Arbonne
Cosmetics. All proceeds will go to charity. Childcare will be available and all
are invited.
Choir Anthem For Sunday
This week the Chancel Choir will sing “God Is Working His Purpose
Out,” a poignant setting assuring us that everything happens in God’s time. The
words “Vainly we hope for the harvest tide till God gives life to the seed,”
remind us of the futility of our worrying about things that are clearly in God’s
hands. We know that God is working his purpose out so that “the earth may be
filled with the glory of God.” The anthem was composed by David Wehr, a graduate
of the University of Kansas and an accomplished concert pianist.

FRINS Needs Your Help
Our FRINS group is starting a new ministry. They will be
taking Upper Rooms to the nursing homes in the area who would like them.
You can help by bringing your old Upper Rooms to the church when you are
finished with them. There will be baskets in the narthex of the church
and in the hallway outside of the fellowship hall. Your help will be
greatly appreciated.
