“Easter Victory: He Lives”
The day of Victory is almost here. Jesus, the crucified, is about to become Jesus, the Resurrected Savior. Easter Sunday is the day to celebrate the breaking of death’s stronghold on human existence. “The wages of sin is death.” However, with Jesus our lives may continue with purpose and meaning. We must believe, practice faith, and live by the teachings of Jesus and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When we do we share God’s loving nature with one another.

Today we celebrate the Power of Jesus’ Resurrection and Love. We can be forgiven of our sins and find life in Christ Jesus. Springtime has come to bring a renewal of life. Young people are professing their faith in Jesus and truly accepting for themselves the guidance of Jesus’ teachings.

Come and celebrate with us on Sunday. Come and feel God’s presence and power. Come and receive the Joy of Easter.

Easter Sunrise Service

7:15 Easter Morning
Early on the first Easter the women went to the tomb to prepare Jesus’ body for burial. They were greeted by the empty tomb and a risen Christ. Their day and our lives were changed forever by that first Easter Sunday. Early on Easter morning this year we will continue the celebration of our risen Christ. The youth will be hosting a sunrise service in the church parking lot at 7:15 a.m. Dress warmly and let’s greet this new day. God is still changing lives.

Our reservations are at 12:45. Each person will pay for their own lunch, and you will order from the menu. We will collect money for gas on the way back. This trip will just be lunch and return to the church. Call the church office, 982-6192, to make your reservation by Monday, March 24.

Hike To Whiteoak Sinks

Again this year, the United Methodist Men will offer a hike to Whiteoak Sinks. The date is Saturday, April 12. We’ll meet at the church at 8:30 for donuts and coffee. After a very brief business meeting for UMM members, we’ll car pool to the Smokies for our hike. Bob Hayes will lead a group on the same 4-mile hike we did last year. Kevin Teffeteller will lead another group on a shorter and easier hike that also leads to the sinks. This is open to all interested people. You don’t have to pre-register; just show up at the church. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. For more information, call Bob at 984-5149.
