“To Be Five Star”
Restaurants are often rated by stars to reflect quality and service. Churches can be looked at and evaluated in similar circumstances. What must we do to be a 5 star church? First we must feed on “The Bread of Life” who is Jesus. Then we must be willing to feed the hungry. All of us are spiritual beings who need God’s sustaining power and presence. Then we must do what we can to help people feed themselves. We must develop a sense of independence so others can be interdependent on us. We all make a contribution in God’s kingdom.

A church needs to be a place to meet God. God’s presence, power and word can sustain us to live a life of quality and meaning. Jesus is the “bread” that can feed us and we must share Him with a hungry and diverse world. Come and feed on the Word of God. Come and be a blessing. In Christ,

                                               In Christ,

Thanks For The Water
A super thanks for everyone that had a hand in helping with Broadway’s Hospitality at the Fall Festival. We saw a lot of returning friends that came by to say hello and have some water. Many people were thrilled with the beauty of our sanctuary and windows. Everyone was thankful for a warm greeting and a clean bathroom. Thanks Broadway for making your home open and inviting. It truly is more than a cup of water, it is a cup of God’s love.

Come Learn About Good Neighbors
Come to Wednesday Fellowship Supper on October 17, 6:00 p.m, and hear Jeanna Stewart tell us about the Good Neighbor program in Blount County. This program provides resources to maintain and/or increase the ability of neighbors in Blount County to cope with the challenges of everyday life. It does this in an atmosphere of love and respect, building partnerships through which Christ’s love can grow. In 2006, more than 300 people were served and over $35,000 worth of financial assistance was provided. Broadway is a participant in this program, so join us as we explore all the ways we can help.

Menu: Baked chicken breasts, squash casserole, black eyed peas, salad, cornbread, cherry cobbler. Cost: $6.00 - adults, $4.00 - children, $18.00 - family. Reservations must be in by 10:00 Tuesday.
