“You
Have Been Given A Gift,
Use It”
The gift of life is a very precious gift from God. God has given us the
means to survive and the power to serve. Moses felt inadequate, but God
nudged him to act. Moses could think of many excuses, but God empowered
him to speak, lead, and guide a group of very stubborn people. Moses
wanted to be a shepherd of sheep, but God wanted him to guide people.
Now that’s an adjustment.
You may not feel confident or adequate, but God wants to use you in His
service. What are you doing with your life? We will look at Moses on
Sunday. We will see how God gave him confidence and strength. God can do
the same for you. We hope to see you Sunday.
Blessings,

E & H Concert Choir In Concert
The Emory & Henry Concert Choir will present a
program of sacred and classical music at BUMC on Sunday, October 28, at
4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The BUMC Chancel Choir will join them on two
selections. A reception, in the W. R. Allen Hall, for the choir and
audience will follow the concert. The Concert Choir, under the direction
of Dr. Stephen Sieck, is the touring vocal ensemble that officially
represents Emory & Henry College in off-campus appearances. Founded in
1958 by Dr. Charles R. Davis, the choir has toured coast to coast and
around the world. Alumni from the Concert Choir have gone on to
successful careers in opera, music ministry, teaching, conducting, as
well as many liberal arts disciplines. The choir celebrates its 50th
anniversary this year with a tour through Vienna, Salzburg, and Munich
in May and a 50th Reunion over Memorial Day weekend. Accompanying the
choir on this program is the E & H brass quartet directed by Dr. Matt
Frederick.
The concert is free and open to the public. There will be a love
offering taken to help the choir off-set their travel expenses.

We extend our sincere Christian love and sympathy to
Sally Henderson and family on the death of her mother Bertha Clabough.
We extend our sincere Christian love and sympathy to Vicky Maslowski and

Attention All Women
The Susanna Wesley Circle invites you to an
evening of food, fun, fellowship and pampering at the first “Princess in
Pajama’s” party. So often we are running around and taking care of
everyone else’s needs but our own. By not making time for ourselves we
can feel run-down, not cared for, or unworthy. Psalm 45:11 tells us,
“The king is enthralled with your beauty.” Christ sees us all as
beautiful and He wants us to feel good about ourselves. Come, renew your
spirits and take a little time to look at your inner beauty at this
“grown-up” sleep-over on Friday, November 16th-Saturday, November 17th.
We will begin our evening at 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. We will
be having snacks all evening and plenty of time to get caught up on your
crafts, and then, we will be treated to special spa pampering. If you
can only come for part of the evening, that is okay too. Bring your
P.J.’s, an air mattress, sleeping bag, and any crafts, scrapbooking,
quilting, etc., that you would like to work on. “This evening is all
about YOU! The cost is $8.00 per person which includes snacks, breakfast
and a few surprises. This is open to women of all ages. Please RSVP to
Lori Wade by November 15th if you are planning on attending.

retreat is $40.00 and money for one lunch on the road. We will be
