Alaskan Mission:

Broadway supports Fran Lynch in her ministry in the uplands of Alaska. Ms. Lynch grew up in Holston Conference in Tennessee where her father is a retired minister. She graduated form Murray State University in KY, and Scarritt Graduate School in Nashville, TN. She was commissioned a Deaconess in the Untied Methodist Church in 1986.

She has served in a variety of settings since then, including Henderson Settlement in the Red Bird Missionary Conference in Kentucky; Open Door Community House in Columbus, GA; and Brevard College, a United Methodist school in Brevard, NC. Her husband JD, serves with the Alaska Army National Guard. To learn more

Missions Requests Help

for Willow, Alaska

In Fran Lynch’s fall newsletter she writes that their Food Bank is the only one in Willow, and already they have helped over 80 families. Demand for their services continues to rise as their donations are dwindling. There are several ways we can help.

The church desperately needs money donations to purchase food and supplies for those in need. You can support this program in two ways: make checks to BUMC for Advance Number 931520, and Judy will send the money; or send checks directly to Fran Lynch, P. O. Box 375, Willow, AK 99688; make the check out to Fran Lynch and designate it “program fund”.

The other way we can help our Alaska Mission is to donate items that Fran requested in her newsletter. The list is simple: glue sticks, three-ring binders, hand held pencil sharpeners, lotion, soap, tooth paste and brushes, shampoo, and deodorant.

What we are already doing here at Broadway: Each Sunday you will find plastic bags in your Sunday school rooms along with the list of needed items, and we hope that your class members will work together to fill the bags. Outreach/MISSIONS will be responsible for the shipping.
