Each spring about 40 volunteers from throughout the Holston Conference participate in the Mexico Medical Mission, bringing medical care to over 1700 persons in two remote villages, Tatoxcac and Ixtepec, in the Eastern Sierra Madre Mountains. Broadway has supported this mission with volunteers and funding for several years. This short-term team is led by former pastor, Jim Dougherty, and Dr. Paul Brown of Johnson City. For further information,
The pictures displayed below show the team's surroundings going to and from the Mexican villages as well as the many people that were serviced by the medical clinics that were set up.

The church supports Operation Classroom, a mission ministry of the Holston Annual Conference, through teams and salary support for missionaries Herbert and Mary Zigbuo. Our congregation is proud to have had the opportunity to join with the Holston Conference to make up School Kits for the children of Liberia. To learn more about Operation Classroom:

During the hurricane season of 2005, the Gulf Coast was devastated beyond anything that has ever been seen there before. Many people died, many lost their homes, their way of living. While Hurricane Katrina unleashed her havoc in a manner of hours, it will take many years before the various locations on the gulf coast will ever recover.
In the summer of 2006 a group from Broadway and Kingston UMC participated in a Holston Conference sanctioned Mission Trip to Mississippi. The team of 12 volunteers joined together with residents and members of Byrd's Chapel UMC (our host congregation), to help restore Newton's Chapel UMC in Crossroads, Mississippi (near Poplarville), a church that was ravaged as a result of the hurricane. |

We have established an ongoing relationship and fellowship with friends living in Great Britain. To date there have been two, or three trips between England and Tennessee, We have had some wonderful experiences to share in our Christian fellowship. Also several members continue individual contacts to this day, with friends that they have made as a direct result of this mission ministry.
Be sure to visit this web page to see and share the experiences that God has provided for us through this fellowship and friendship.
