As a child, how many of you ever played "Church?" Maybe an older brother, or sister was the preacher, and two, or three of your friends were the congregation and you might have even included the family cat, or dog into the mix!!!
There
were children's songs such as "Jesus Loves Me". Children emulate adults.
They learn by what they see. The vision of our Children's Ministry is to
introduce children to Jesus and lead them into a growing relationship
with Him.
Children are so very important to us that we have taken a lot of time to evaluate the best way to teach and nurture them. Knowing that we can't possibly teach kids all they need to know about God in 1 hour a week, we partnered with parents to make sure that together kids are getting absolutely everything that we can offer. Believing that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church we try to focus on a few things and do them with excellence. we make church the best hour of every kid's week.
Children's Church is for kids in kindergarten through third grade and takes place immediately following "The Children's (Sermon) Time" during our Morning Worship. As the younger kids go to the nursery or back with parents we invite these children in K - 3rd grade to go to room 405 for their own worship service. Our hope is to help teach our children how and why we worship. One of the goals is to help our younger worshipers get the most out of the main worship service. There is some overlap of ages for the nursery and Children's Church. If you think your kindergartner would like to be part of Children's Church they are welcome, if you think they would do better in the nursery they can do that. The 3rd graders are welcome to stay in the main service and to be active in that worship service, but they are also welcome in Children's Church. Charlie Wimmer leads the worship with a host of volunteers.
