The paring of the Evangelism and Witness Ministries is a perfect match because we are called as Christians to "go and make disciples". In today's climate, just as the persons that we are trying to reach are individuals, so must be our approach in selecting who and how we communicate our faith. We must do so in a style that comfortably fits each one of us. "Witnessing" has has come to mean many things to many different people. First, we believe, that every person is a minister. Second, we believe the the simplest, yet most profound form of evangelism can be found in sharing a faith story that distinguishes your own Christian experience.

The Evangelism/Witness Ministry is charged with encouraging and assisting our members in sharing their faith! We coordinate the welcoming of visitors to our congregation and follow-up. We coordinate opening our church to the community during the annual Foothills Fall Festival, as well as marketing, branding, advertising and communicating the many ministries and activities of the congregation. Through prayerful and thoughtful study and planning, we hope to serve as a resource for our members to help you to direct persons to this place and to Christ!

SERMONS WE SEE

I'd rather see a sermon than hear one

than merely show the way.

The eye's a better pupil and more

willing than the ear;

Fine counsel is confusing, but

For to see the good in action is what

everybody needs.

Witnessing is also "Faith In Action" as you will find demonstrated through our "Outreach/MISSIONS Ministry" and many of the other fine ministries and activities that we offer here at Broadway. It is demonstrated through our church newsletter, and through this website. It encompasses anything that can we do to organize, and join together get Christ's message of love and salvation into our local communities and throughout the world.

Witnessing is also projected in how we as Christians carry ourselves in our daily living. The poem by Edgar A. Guest, "Sermons We See" perfectly illustrates our calling as evangelists and witnesses for Christ and our faith, not only as Methodists, but more importantly, as Christians.

Part and parcel of being a "Witness" for Christ involves following through by "going out into the world and making disciples." It is being able to understand who we are and where we are in Christ. Being able to understand our Spiritual Gifts and equally, being able to apply them both through our volunteerism here at Broadway and in ministering to the un-churched in our community.
