Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?" And the king will answer them, "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." --Matthew 25:37-40 NRSV |

None of us are immune from life's hard times. Many of us know first hand how it feels to struggle daily to make ends meet. We have felt the grace that comes from an outstretched hand and the joy of returning the favor when God blesses us with abundance. Providing assistance to those in need within our community is one of Broadway's Outreach/MISSIONS Ministry most tangible ministries. Our food pantry seeks to meet some of the immediate needs of our neighbors.
The pantry is OPEN Monday through Friday during office hours. The pantry is located in the W. R. Allen Fellowship Hall and can be accessed via the Patton Street side of the church complex. It is staffed by members of our congregation.
On the first Sunday of each month we host a "Can Sunday" where donations can be placed in the baskets located at the church entrance. Other times, donations may be dropped off at the church office. Following is a listing of the donations that we seek to stock the pantry. We are also collecting baby diapers, baby wipes, etc., along with monetary donations. Make checks payable to "Broadway UMC Food Pantry" |

Broadway's Food Pantry can purchase foods needed to provide balanced meals and support the operation of all our programs. |
We count on volunteers like you to give their time and talent, to help with stocking shelves, distributing food, inventory and helping to be a witness to God's love, both at our own food pantry and at other community outlets. |
The Outreach/MISSIONS Ministry here at Broadway sponsors monthly Food drives. They offer a profound opportunity to contribute directly to those in need. |
